Lately, what’s inspiring me most is the act of making space.

Spring cleaning my home has turned into something deeper—letting go of the things that no longer serve me and honoring the pieces ready for their next chapter.

A set of Russell Wright mid-century dishes and a Rowley Company Grommet/Button Press are both available for sale.

The dishes can be found at Antiques of Winfield Booth U17 (upstairs, to the right), and the press is listed on Facebook.

I’ve also been reminded that sustainability often begins at home—reusing what we already have, clearing space thoughtfully, and choosing intention over excess.

Sometimes letting go is exactly what makes room for creativity to return. 🤍

A new chapter…✨

I’ve been making some shifts in my work lately—focusing more on the smaller, meaningful pieces that allow me to stay creative and hands-on.

And outside of my client work, I’ve been spending time creating just for the joy of it.

These coasters are made from fabric I had on hand, finished with vintage ribbon…simple, sustainable, and honestly so fun to make.

It’s been a reminder that creativity doesn’t always have to be big to be meaningful. 🤍

You can find these at Antiques of Winfield — Booth U17 (upstairs, to the right).

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT …

We’re eliminating pillows.

Less fluff. Less comfort. Less personality.

Just… couches.

😉 April Fools.

We’ll never give up the layers that make a home feel finished.

Some things are too meaningful to sit folded in a drawer.

Your grandmother’s quilt.
Your dad’s favorite shirt.
A christening gown.
A concert tee from a moment you’ll never forget.

These pieces carry stories.

And now there are beautiful ways to preserve them.

I’m excited to share a collaboration between Day Street Designs and DuPage Framing Center — where we can transform heirloom fabrics and meaningful memorabilia into something you can see and enjoy every day.

✨ Custom framed textile artwork
✨ Heirloom pillows made from meaningful fabric
✨ Thoughtful design that honors the story behind the piece

Some pieces are meant for the wall.
Some are meant for the sofa.
Some deserve both.

I’ll help design something beautiful that reflects your style and the meaning behind the fabric, and together with Bob and the incredible craftsmanship at , we’ll create something truly lasting.

Because your home should tell your story.

If you have something tucked away that deserves more than a drawer, send me a message or stop by the shop. I’d love to help you bring it back to life.

Milwaukee felt like a gift.

I was given three quiet days in a friend’s apartment — slow mornings, soft light, and nowhere I needed to be.

One evening, I met a college friend for dinner at Tauro Cocina in the Lower East Side. It’s a cozy little place with warm light, mezcal cocktails, handmade pasta, and wood-fired pizza. The kind of restaurant where conversation stretches on longer than you expect.

The rest of the time was slower.

I stitched.
I knit.
I read.
And I walked along Lake Michigan, letting the wind clear my head.

There’s something about being near water that rearranges your thoughts.

And of course… I found a yarn shop.

Fiber Fever in Bay View is filled with beautiful hand-dyed yarn in the most incredible colors. I went in just to look and left with the most perfect shade of red and a head full of ideas.

Sometimes inspiration isn’t loud.

It’s slow hands.
Thread through fabric.
A walk by the water.
Stepping away long enough to see clearly again.

And I’m coming home inspired.

Some fabrics hold more than thread.
They hold stories.

These pillows were made from t-shirts worn at a family’s annual reunion—year after year, gathering after gathering. Instead of being tucked away in a drawer, they became something the family could live with and pass down.

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how homes aren’t just styled.
They’re collected.

That reflection led me to begin something new at Day Street Designs—
a way to thoughtfully transform meaningful textiles into pieces that feel at home where they belong.

And of course, I’m still here for the everyday details too—custom window coverings, pillows, cushions, and all the things that make a house feel like yours.

If you have a fabric you’ve never known what to do with, my door is open.

No pressure. Just a conversation.💛

Peace looks different for everyone.

After a year that asked a lot of us, I’m wishing you moments of calm, comfort, and ease—especially at home.

The kind of peace found in quiet rooms, soft textures, familiar rituals, and spaces that feel safe to land in.

Home doesn’t have to be perfect.
It just has to hold you.

Wishing you a gentle close to the year 🤍

What’s inspiring me this week?

These gorgeous, thrifty quilting squares—hand sewn by women who saved every tiny scrap of fabric and made something beautiful out of it.

Their creativity, their resourcefulness, their commitment to not wasting a thing… it feels like a love letter to slow craft.

And it’s the perfect energy as I kick off the Upcycle Series here at Day Street Designs.
Think: old textiles → new life.
Scraps → style.
Memories → modern design.

Can’t wait to share what’s coming.
