Front doors can be tricky.

When doing a front door use a urethane paint. It covers better, but a bit more technical to use. But its well worth the work and looks amazing

We use Emerald Urethane from Sherwin Williams.

When doing doors you want a low gloss to high gloss. Lower sheens get and stay dirty and you have to wash them more.

When applying urethane paint it’s always best to spray it in thin layers. If you roll the door use a foam roller.

Getting rid of popcorn ceiling doesn’t have to be messy.

With proper prep and tools it can make quick clean work

Step 1: Put a tape line all around the perimeter of the ceiling. Keep it close the the ceiling, you can leave this line to protect your walls from the primer and paint

Step 2: tape construction paper to your floor using blue tape if you have a solid floor. If it’s carpet, you can use canvas.

Step 3: Drape plastic down to the floor. Get plastic that is longer than your wall. Example: if you have 10 foot ceiling, get 12 foot plastic. Then tape it to the construction paper or canvas to keep it secure.

Now you’re ready to scrape or sand.

Wall sanders can range from $100 to $1500. You just need one that has a vacuum attachment.

Start with a course sand paper like 100 grit, then use a more fine grit like 220 to finish.

Now you’re ready to skim coat.

Tip #4: Remember, it's not about perfection; it's about expression! So whether you're more Van Gogh or van "no-go", slap on that paint and have fun!
