We are featuring and celebrating White Oak this month. I have never seen a species climb into popularity so fast and stay so long at the top like White Oak. These days the riftsawn look is still the most popular with designers but flatsawn and rustic looks are showing up more and more. This is just a sampling of some of the interior and exterior cladding jobs we have done lately featuring this phenomenal species.

Best way to hide a glue line is surround it with vertical grain. The glue up process for and their Vulcan boards is as old as 18th century French marquetry but it is still a great way to create super stable boards with minimal waste and better control over the appearance grade. New growth FSC timbers made into looks that use old growth trees.

Deck refinishing with is a snap and requires no special skills or tools. This is an Ipe deck that has been in full sun for a year and is starting to fade. A little soap and water and then a new finish. Starting with a factory finish of Cutek means that the restore can be once every few years or even 10 years later. The original color comes right back.

We are looking for someone to join our marketing staff who can help in samples creation and fulfillment. Every day we ship wood samples all across the nation of finished and unfinished wood. This person with fabricate and finish samples, package and ship them. Additionally they will work with sales on creating custom looks for customers. Should have wood finishing experience and an eye for color and design. As this department grows this position has nearly unlimited potential to help us develop new product lines and new markets. A little deck rejuvenation today. This Ipe has had a year to weather after install so a few of us went out today and cleaned and spruced it with another coat of and brought back the awesome! All wood greys. All finishes fade over time. The secret is ease of restoration and this is something all our factory finishes rely on. Your exposure will vary but the effort to bring it back to fresh is nothing more than a few beers and good conversation. More details on our process coming soon to this space.
