Infinite food. The Rubicon Nursery site is flowering big time. Established perennial veggies like Korean celery, rhubarb, asparagus, and Egyptian walking onion are going hyperbolic.
So this brings me to my next point: there isn’t a single asset class that performs as well as perennial food systems. At the very least, perennial systems are probably one of the most undervalued asset classes and arguably the best long-term, life-supporting investment.
When you buy one currant, for instance, you’re actually buying infinite food. You can take cuttings, root them, and plant them back out.
So please—instead of buying a hanging basket, another hydrangea, or really anything ornamental—just buy an organically grown, fruit-bearing plant that will give you food till death.
