Have you ever seen a flower do something strange like this? 🌼👀
This Gerbera daisy is showing off a fascinating plant phenomenon called fasciation. Fasciation occurs when a plant's growing point becomes altered, causing stems, flowers, or blooms to flatten, fuse together, or develop unusual shapes. The exact cause isn't always known, but it can be triggered by genetics, environmental conditions, physical damage, or even certain insects.
While it may look odd, fasciation is usually harmless and often creates some truly unique blooms that you won't see every day!
Have you ever found a flower, vegetable, or plant with fasciation in your garden? We'd love to see it! Share your photos in the comments below and show us your weirdest and wildest plant discoveries. 🌿📸 (Photo credit: Molly Villeneuve)
