A little peek at what we’ve been working on lately ✨

Between commercial projects and residential projects, there is a LOT happening behind the scenes at Rooted. I’m just notoriously bad at remembering to actually show you any of it. 😂

Meet Project Reverie. Who says your apartment has to feel like an apartment?

This one has been SO fun to design because our client isn’t afraid of color, pattern, or pieces that are a little unexpected. She wanted her home to feel like her, so we leaned all the way into it.

Bold color. Playful art. Sculptural furniture. Patterned drapery. A little vintage influence. And pieces that don’t necessarily “match,” but somehow feel completely at home together.

We also wanted to be thoughtful about where we invested, choosing staple furniture that can move with her into a future home and then using art, lighting, textiles, and accessories to really tell her story.

I think my favorite thing about this room is that it doesn’t feel like something pulled straight from Pinterest. It feels personal. A little quirky, a little feminine, definitely fun, and very much hers.

And designing for a client who gives you permission to have this much fun? The best. 🤍

A Design Intensive is perfect for the client who knows what they like, but doesn’t quite know how to pull it all together.

For this home office, we worked around a few existing furniture pieces and created a clear design direction that made the room feel more intentional, layered, and complete.

The goal was to give the client a plan they could confidently move forward with, including furniture, lighting, textiles, finishes, and styling details that all felt connected.

Not every project needs full-service design. Sometimes you just need a professional eye, a clear direction, and a thoughtful plan that helps everything finally make sense.

When this client came to me, this bathroom definitely needed a refresh. We leaned into pattern, warmth, and a little personality to give it a completely different feel without losing the charm of the home. The soft green vanity, vintage-inspired tile, warm brass mirror, and layered lighting made this tiny room feel intentional instead of overlooked.

Meanwhile… behind the scenes, I’m finally moving into my own house this week after a YEAR of remodeling from the studs. Let me tell ya… owning a business, being a full-time mom, and renovating an entire home is not for the weak. 😂 There were definitely moments where I questioned my sanity somewhere between drywall dust, client meetings, and bedtime routines.

I can confidently say I deeply understand the process my clients are walking through. The decision fatigue, the chaos, the excitement when it finally starts coming together… all of it.

And honestly? When a plan comes together like this... it makes every second worth it. ✨

One of the biggest things my clients say before we start? “I don’t even know where to begin.”

And honestly… that feeling makes sense. if there’s one thing that I’ve learned from working in an architectural firm to owning my own residential interior design business, is that there are so many decisions to be made — no matter the size of the project. A renovation comes with a million decisions, Pinterest overload, conflicting opinions, budgets, timelines, and trying to picture how everything will come together before a single thing is installed.

That’s why I care so much about creating a process that feels clear and collaborative from the very beginning.

This review meant so much to me because this is exactly what Rooted is here to do:
Take the overwhelm off your plate and turn it into a home that feels personal and beautifully put together from start to finish. 🤍

Walking into the weekend excited… we are preparing to move into our new house after a year of remodeling. 🥹 so you might not hear from me for a while. In the meantime — I’m going to have to get me one of these Planterior custom pieces for my own house. 💚🌱🪴

When this client came to Rooted with a dream (and really good taste), I was over the moon to start designing.

I approach projects a little differently than most designers—I build everything in 3D while I’m selecting finishes from the very beginning. It helps me understand what’s working (and what’s not) before anything ever gets presented. It’s how I learned in an architectural firm, and it’s something I’ve carried into every project since.

I still remember our first Zoom call… they weren’t sure what to expect, but said, “This is exactly what we’ve been picturing—we just didn’t know how to pull it together.”

That moment never gets old.

And this kitchen… I’m so happy with how it turned out. The slim shaker cabinetry, the built-in lighting, the warmth layered throughout—it all came together in the best way.

This is the kind of kitchen that doesn’t just photograph well—it lives well. Morning coffee, weeknight dinners, hosting without overthinking it… it all fits here.

Design that feels effortless is never accidental.

If you’re planning a home and want it to feel this considered from the start, that’s exactly where we come in.

Imagine walking into your home knowing it all came together exactly as you imagined AND you didn't have to run into unforeseen issues along the way (saving $$$$).

That’s the difference a clear design plan makes.

If you’ve been collecting ideas but can’t quite pull it all together, this is your sign to stop guessing, putting together a million Pinterest ideas that never come to fruition, not being able to explain exactly what you want to a builder...

Comment “DESIGN” and I’ll send you the details on how we can map out your home room by room.

Happy Monday.

Plum brown was just named one of the cabinet colors of the year, and I have to say… I’m really loving it here. The richness of this color paired with warm brass accents and marble flooring makes this laundry room feel elevated while still being incredibly practical.

I’m so happy with how these selections came together. When clients are willing to step just a little outside their comfort zone, that’s when a home starts to feel truly personalized and custom.

Traveling to another town in western Kansas today for a project visit. I can’t wait to share more soon.

Project Emerald Bay | Laundry Room

A place I'd actually love doing laundry. Why is it that most laundry rooms in the midwest never have a window? 🤔 This laundry room layers rich color and classic detailing to create a space that feels both hardworking and beautiful. Deep plum cabinetry adds warmth and depth, paired with brass hardware and plumbing fixtures that bring in a soft glow.

Vertical board and batten keeps the walls light and textured, while the dark countertop grounds the palette. A marble mosaic floor tile adds movement and interest underfoot, and a simple farmhouse sink beneath the window keeps the room feeling timeless and functional.
