A Sweet Socialite’s Last Act of Redemption
She reached out to me through email. Told me later that she almost didn't hit send. I'm so glad she did. ❤️🩹🌼💖
The Message:
"Honey, back in the day I was quite a thing to behold. Now I'm old and nearing the end. It's funny how quickly you realize how you wish you'd been better to some people, when the end is so close."
When this client reached out to me, she wasn't just looking for an organizer; she was looking for a bridge back to the people she had loved, and then mistreated, along the way. She had 5 names and a lifetime’s worth of "glamorous chaos." (Yes, those were her words.) She wanted to leave this world with her affairs in order and her heart at peace.
The Mission:
I stepped into the role of private investigator, travel coordinator, and mediator. I tracked down all 5 people. While 2 of those doors remained closed, 3 were opened. I coordinated the travel and escorted her across the country, again and again, to sit face-to-face with her past. I became witness to decades of silence and hard feelings turning into forgiveness, story-telling and healing hugs.(Only a small amount of mediation was needed.😊) Needless to say, I understood the true capacity of our hearts that day.
Back at her home, we applied that same level of restoration to her physical space. We spent months working together to lighten the load for her family—we donated art, cataloged precious heirlooms, and wrote letters to loved ones, to be discovered later. We cleared the clutter so her family could focus on her memory, rather than her physical chaos.
The Transformation:
On her final day, she told me I had given her the greatest gift she’d received since she was a young woman. She died with a lighter spirit and an organized legacy.
This is why I do what I do.❤️
