Got a couple more hours in on it today. I need to double check where the shielded wires go, been a minute since I built an amp from scratch. Not a kit build at all. I am having much fun with this. This amp is gonna be bad ass. I just kinda laid the board in to see how it will fit. Looks ok to me. I will likely use some nylon stand offs to mount the board to the chassis. Not sure yet. I am designing and engineering it as I go.

Got a bit more work done yesterday. Today is Sunday, so I am taking a break to rest and regroup. This is my first "from scratch" build in over 15 years. It is almost like starting over as a newbie in some ways. I have made and corrected a few mistakes already. I am having tons of fun building this amp.

Change of plans for the 5F2A amp. I have decided to use a different chassis. This will end up being a "low profile cube" shaped head amp instead of a classic Champ style combo amp. This will allow me to easiIy hook up to whatever speaker cab I want to. The only drawback with the salvaged OT is that it wants to see a 4 ohm load. I could purchase a multi tap OT but for now I am going with this one. I can always upgrade the OT later when I have extra money, np. Anyway, I have some metal work to do and get the board populated. The caps and carbon film resistors are all NOS but I checked each one to make sure they are within tollerance just to make sure.
