Semi-transparent stain ages two ways: babied, or forgotten. This one was babied.

We sprayed it and back-brushed every board so the stain got forced into the pores instead of sitting on top waiting to peel. TWP penetrates. Cheap film-formers flake off grayer than a tax form by year two.

We back-brush it — work it down into the pores by hand so the wood actually drinks it. TWP doesn’t sit on top and peel. It penetrates. Done right, it holds.

Fun fact: TWP was invented by a fella named Bill Reckel, whose company still runs out of Pacific — fifteen minutes from this jobsite. Local wood. Local stain. Local crew that’s been doing this 40+ years.

Blue Angels buzzed Chesterfield this weekend. We been flying that tight for 40 years. Some painters are crop dusters spraying a bean field. We’re the ones doing the inverted pass while you hold your breath.

Dark, wall-colored ceilings from the day the house was painted. Dorothy was done with it — every room felt like living inside a paper bag. Drywall repaired throughout, then two coats of white up top, and the whole house took a deep breath. Ted on site, Rory bringing over 30 years of muscle, and Luke our apprentice getting coached every step. West County homes deserve better than dim. Call 636-458-7707.
