This is the perfect time to plant peonies for spring blooms! October planting of mature bare peony roots is recommended. The eyes located on the roots are your guarantee of future stalk growth. Peonies have been known to grow for 50 years, so plant your peonies in a location you would like them to be during your lifetime.
Peonies enjoy sun and good drainage, but are not fussy. Nestle your plants in a hole with eyes planting toward the soil approximately 1 1/2" to 2" under the soil. Roots actually lie on their sides with eyes up (we ship a diagram and planting instructions).
