Sparetime Supply Distribution Sparetime Supply Distribution is a wholesale distributor of indoor and outdoor gardening supplies. In 1980 Dianne and Mike Sr.

borrowed money from Dianne's parents and with their two small children, started selling mushroom compost out of the back of an old beat up flatbed truck. Dianne and Mike both had full-time jobs, while working to grow this nursery supply business, all of their spare time was put into opening a retail store, hence the name Sparetime Supply. In 1983, Mike finished building the original retail store a

nd Sparetime Supply opened its doors to Willits, CA. We were a small nursery that was dedicated to giving back to the community that had given us life. Over the years it grew apparent that our superior customer service could benefit more than just the Willits community. Mike’s first wholesale sale happened when he over committed on a truckload of amendments and he ended up selling part of it to another nursery north of Willits. Finally, in the late ‘90s we started distributing nursery supplies throughout Northern California. Additionally, we started our own line of products. They don’t have flashy labels and they aren’t in specialized containers, they are the highest quality amendments at the lowest cost. The majority of the money we make stays in our community going to employee wages, and donations to various organizations. We believe in the power of relationships. We pride ourselves in always being straight forward and honest. Know that when we tell you something, we mean it. Our humble beginnings remind us to take care of our customers and vendors to the best of our ability, because without them, Sparetime would never be what it is today.

Out with the old, in with the new! When Derek reached out letting us know he had worn his Sparetime hat nearly every day since 2021 and he was in dire need of a replacement, we jumped in to get him a new favorite hat he can wear for years to come.

After seeing the original hat behind the counter at one of our retail partners five years ago, he asked if he could buy it and they said, "You can have it for free!" We love our customers!

He promised to wear it as often as possible; days working on the farm, hitting the gym and even wearing it when he got hit by a car (he's okay). Using tape to keep it together wasn't working anymore. We're so glad he reached out and can't wait to see where this goes next!

It is with a heavy heart that we had to say goodbye to a beloved member of the Sparetime Family. Tinkerbell hit the road with Tim for seven years before being an office dog for the last two. She loved the wind in her face, a good ear rub and seeing all her friends. She will be missed by everyone. Rest in peace Tinkerbell 💔 🐾
