Minnesota winter is set to go out with a bang! The approaching storm will present freezing rain, snow, and high winds. Each of these conditions can present damaging results for trees but all three together is exponentially more destructive. Be sure to check the condition of any trees that are in a location that could result in secondary damage. Look for a splitting trunk or large limbs, "widow makers" which are branches that are broken but still hanging or hung up in other limbs, and any other sort of damage you know to be out of the ordinary. Anything over or near your home, other structures, vehicles, areas where children play, or anything else you perceive to be a possible hazard are all examples of areas that could be hazardous or prone to secondary damage.
