CCS Building Group has had the honor of working with Willow Valley Communities in creating one of the first facilities of its kind in all of North America - the Marlin & Doris Thomas Memory Care Center. 🌟

Built around one core mission of improving the lives of those living with dementia by promoting independence, freedom, and a true sense of home, this groundbreaking facility is truly unlike any other. We've been working alongside international designers from the Netherlands, healthcare experts, and community stakeholders to transform a revolutionary care philosophy into beautifully designed cafes, salons, gardens, and homes for 140 residents. For those living with dementia, environment shapes daily experience - and familiar spaces like a neighborhood cafe, a garden path, or a salon help residents maintain a connection to memory and routine. The Marlin & Doris Thomas Memory Care Center was built so that residents live with autonomy and dignity, not as visitors or patients at a facility, but as true members of a community designed entirely around their needs!

Members of the CCS team took time this past week to support our local community in a way that also taught us something new… like what a “Gaga ball” is! 😄

The team removed an old Gaga pit at Pequea Elementary School and built a new pit in its place. A huge shoutout to Lezzer Lumber for their generous donation of materials that made this project possible.

At CCS Building Group, we take pride in not only building great projects but also supporting the communities and organizations around us. Opportunities like these are a great reminder of our purpose!

PROJECT UPDATE!

We are excited to share an update on the Willow Valley Lakes Core Renovations!

This major renovation is transforming both the interior and exterior common areas of the Willow Valley Lakes campus core building, spanning over 43,000 square feet. From the front parking lot and entryway to the ground, 1st, 2nd, and 4th floors, this project is truly a full transformation. Interior updates include beautifully remodeled amenity areas, dining and kitchen spaces, a library, auditorium, and much more. On the exterior, the existing building entrance and lobby has been demolished to make way for a stunning new Porte cochere and lobby entrance, along with refreshing landscaping and improved parking lot functionality.

Currently on site, our team is erecting the new steel structure for the lobby entrance, framing new interior walls, MEPS rough-ins, and replacing finishes for new custom millwork and other features. Front entrance improvement work will kick off once the new structure is fully erected and weathered in - and we can't wait for everyone to see the finished product. This space is going to be a warm and welcoming environment for both residents and visitors alike. Stay tuned for more updates!
