So about three years ago I started playing with top dressing. I used the cheapest organic I could find, which was mushroom substrate.

Sharing the concept as organic caused a bit of a stir around the island. Even Ed, before he left Ace, told me stories about someone using mushroom compost to repair their yard...

This is the area where I added the material. The following photo is the same spot looking away from where the top dress happened. Both spot have been managed the same for all inputs. It’s expensive to do, but it does have a very positive effect.
