At first glance, yellow lantana and purple verbena look like they’re doing the same job on the patio 🌼💜
But botanically, they couldn’t be more different.

Lantana grows upright with tightly packed flower umbels built for heat, resilience, and visibility to pollinators. Verbena spreads outward with lighter clustered blooms designed for continuous flowering and nectar production.

Different structures. Different growth habits. Same goal: turning the patio into a pollinator hotspot 🌿🦋

See these planters and plenty more while enjoying brunch on the patio at The Greenhouse. Because honestly… what’s better than a mimosa and butterflies on a Sunday in May? 🍾☀️

Tiny porch visitor today 🌺🐦

I discovered the tiniest little house finch nest tucked away inside my hibiscus this morning. When I got close, mama finch gently flew out and landed on the garden light… almost like she was introducing herself and letting me know I’d officially been chosen to host the nursery. 🌿✨

Now listen… this is beautiful and all, but y’all better be careful letting birds get too comfortable near the house 😂 Next thing you know, they’ve moved in rent-free, brought cousins, and are judging your landscaping choices from the bushes.

Nature always finds a way to remind us to slow down, pay attention, and share space with the life growing around us.

After the rain, everything feels a little softer 🌿Birds singing, leaves glistening, and the patio just breathing again.

A few plants got a little too much love from the storm… but give them some sun and they’ll bounce right back.

This is the calm I needed. I think you deserve it too! See ya at The Greenhouse Gastropub!

Sun, sips, and a little plant therapy 🌿✨Giving this Ficus Tineke Ruby some love out on the patio at The Greenhouse Gastropub.

If you’re bringing your variegated beauties outside this season, here are a few quick tips:

• Wait until nighttime temps are consistently above 50°F before moving them out

• Start in partial shade—direct sun too fast can scorch those gorgeous leaves• Water thoroughly, but let the top inch of soil dry between drinks

• Keep an eye on wind—ficus prefer a calm, stable spot• Rotate your plant for even growth and color

Treat them right and they’ll reward you with that stunning pink and cream variegation all season long 🌱💕
