We lost one of our own this past Friday.
For over 12 years, Barry wasn’t just a coworker at Mike’s Mulch—he was family. If you stopped by, you probably saw him: smiling, laughing, hands always greasy from fixing equipment, ready with a story, a joke, or a helping hand. Barry never met a stranger.
He adored his wife, Janet, and the love they shared was obvious to everyone who knows them. Together they shared a love for Disney, visiting twice a year and even buying a timeshare so they could keep going back to their happiest place. Barry loved fishing with friends at Kure Pier, scratching off lottery tickets every day (and even winning big once!), and most of all—he loved people. His family, his friends, and every person lucky enough to cross his path.
Barry had a way of making work lighter, life warmer, and every day brighter. He brought joy and laughter wherever he went, and his kindness touched everyone who knew him.
We will miss his smile, his laugh, his humor, his generosity, and his presence every single day. From all of us who had the privilege to work alongside him: Barry, you were a staple of this business and of our hearts. Rest easy, friend—you will never be forgotten. 💔
