Living on the ocean is beautiful… but it’s rough on your home, especially older woodwork like these porch ceilings from the 60s 🌊
Just a friendly reminder that a little maintenance out here goes a long way in keeping things looking good and holding up over time.
On this one we:
• Took care of peeling and bubbling paint to stop further breakdown and give everything a solid base
• Sanded down weak and worn areas to help eliminate spots where salt and moisture can settle in
• Used an oil-based primer for added moisture protection and better adhesion
• Took the time to properly prep everything so the coastal wind didn’t carry paint where it shouldn’t
Between the salt air, humidity, and constant breeze, using the right prep and products can really help extend the life of your paint and keep things in good shape longer. Salt gets trapped in cracks and turns into a constantly damp sponge for moisture that spreads behind paint where you may not see moisture spreading.
If your porch ceiling, siding, or trim is starting to look tired, chances are it’s not just cosmetic anymore—it’s usually the early signs of wear from the coastal environment.
Reach out to us even if you’re just curious about what condition your paint is in, how long it might last, or what the best approach would be for your home.
