Garden days have started.

I am still learning with gardening so I try all kinds of things. This is my lettuce in the 2 litter bottle greenhouses and a variety of things in the milk jugs. Trying winter sowing. So excited for the garden this summer.

So I took out my seedling for a hour today for fresh air and a little sun. I went through and separated the ones that had produced 2 or 3 seedling in the same container. I live in a apartment and I have a deck thats it. I do wish I had more space or a large heated greenhouse. One day I will but until then I will use what I have and learn all I can. At my mom's house we all share a huge garden so I am learning to start seeds.

My inside November garden. Microgreens, lettuce and spinach. And the last tomatoes on a late tomato plant at moms. This is my grow rack. I got broccoli microgreens, radish microgreens, a mix with cabbage, mustard greens and sunflower microgreens.

So EVERYTHING has or is going up in price. Groceries, gas, light bill, rent literally everything. Eating out has gone up. I get it its inflation and so many have said we need to support our restaurants so they can stay in business. Well I live pay check to pay check and we have drastically cut down on eating out due to having to pay necessities like rent and lights that have all increased. So with that in mind raise your hand if you are thinking of growing your own food to save some money on groceries next spring?

Not your traditional breakfast but oh so good. I added lettuce microgreens to my tomato sandwich. Yummy.

We planted some late tomato plants. Our original tomato plants are finished producing and we went ahead and plowed them in the field. We planted some full size tomatoes, purple Cherokee and Martian giant tomatoes. They are still green. And we planted a few cherry tomatoes called black cherry. These are the black cherry they are big and a good number of fruit on each plant. Planning on serving theses tomorrow on a great salad bar at the Flourish class. Everyone is welcome. Its at Hornes united methodist church in Bailey 2 to 4. Message me for info. We are gonna learn how to grow microgreens and how to make watermelon lemonade concentrate.
