Santiago reviews the importance of keeping your Azaleas healthy with a rejuvenation prune. Make deep cuts after bloom time, preferably in June, to encourage basal growth and create a naturally shaped classic Spring shrub. ’lllovecominghome

Late winter into early spring is the most ideal time for landscape plans to take shape. 🌱📐

With the ground still resting and buds just beginning to swell, this is the perfect window to refine ideas, plan out details, and prepare for a smooth build once the season turns. Let us help you bring your vision into focus so you're ready for the months ahead.

“Sound on” for all the beautiful buzz 🐝 flitting about this Redbud tree in full bloom. What a show off! Its soft pink petals line every branch — so light, airy and just enough color to stop you in your tracks.

Edible gardens start taking shape before the growing season begins. 🌱 Late winter into early spring is the perfect time to plan how productive plants can be woven into your landscape.

🌱 Leafy greens like lettuce, spinach, and arugula thrive in cool temperatures and partial shade
🌱 Kale and Swiss chard establish early and deliver steady harvests as the season warms
🌱 Scallions and chives are among the first to return and perform well with limited sun
🌱 Parsley and cilantro prefer cooler weather
🌱 Alpine strawberries work as a subtle groundcover with seasonal rewards

Thoughtful planning now sets the stage for an edible garden that’s both beautiful and productive, fitting seamlessly into the landscape as spring arrives.

Our Fine Gardening division Manager, Santiago demonstrates how we significantly prune Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus) early in the season.

Since Road of Sharon blooms on new wood, or growth from the current season, pruning now won’t sacrifice flowers, expected from mid-July through September.

When pruning, we consider shrub height relative to the house & window coverage. This one needed a deeper prune than usual.

We’ll revisit this beauty in a few months!
