Falk Fine Woodworking, LLC

Falk Fine Woodworking, LLC High quality wood furnishings and kitchen implements, locally made and hand crafted. Custom orders welcome. My work is done mostly on the lathe for the stools.

Design source for the stools came from David W. Scott in Fine Woodworking on Chairs and Beds. I added my own take on his basic stool, and I added faceting on the turned legs for more visual interest. I use stationary power tools to mill the wood for the furniture pieces and all the joints are cut by hand. Kitchen utensils are of my own design and are primarily crafted by hand with the exception of

the straight handle on the spoon, which I turn on the lathe. The spiral handle on the spreaders and lefse turner are unique and I hand carve myself. I try to use wood for these utensils from downed trees in the NH woods, so I would label them sustainable. The cup or scoop is all one piece and is designed as a standard one-cup measure. Bio:
I have been a woodworker for over thirty years. Mostly building for my family and by commission. I was a fulltime commercial fisherman in Alaska until two years ago and now am pursuing my love of woodworking full time. I have designed and crafted kitchen cabinets, four poster beds, side tables, desks, drop leaf tables, bowls, music stands and even boats in a bottle. Currently I am concentrating of the stools, standing desks and kitchen implements but will work on commission as requested.

A special order going out before the snow storm. This is a roller that will be used by a glass blower. She provided the approximate dimensions. She explained to me: β€œthe roller just needs be cherry(a fruit wood)and to fit Into the opening of the glass, about 2 inches in so it can create steam. We soak the roller because the glass is between 1100-1500 degrees to work on it. It needs the water to cool down or the wood sparks It is kind of an experiment since I can't find them online really.. It is an old technique that has been replaced by another tool.”
It will be interesting to hear back if it fulfilled her needs! πŸ‘πŸ»

Just dropped this special order off at North Conway League store.
A risotto stirrer, it can be made in a spoon form or spatula as seen here. Thoughts? I had never heard of this tool before, have you? (Not the greatest photo-but almost forgot to even snap a pic!)

🀩 Look at this gorgeous black walnut! This krumkake roller is headed to a customer in Iowa, lucky woman. Steve always marvels at the beauty when cutting into a new piece of wood.
