🎃 Halloween Safety Tips from Cobalt Civil 🎃
At Cobalt Civil, safety isn’t just something we talk about on the job site — it’s something we live by every day, at work and at home. As Halloween approaches, we want to help keep our families, friends, and communities safe while everyone enjoys the fun, costumes, and candy that come with this spooky season. 👻
Here are a few important reminders to make sure your night is full of treats (and no tricks!):
🕯️ Be Visible:
As the sun sets, visibility drops. Make sure kids’ costumes include reflective tape or glow sticks, and carry a flashlight to help others see you. Drivers should use extra caution in neighborhoods and slow down — little ghosts and goblins can be hard to spot.
🚸 Plan a Safe Route:
Stick to well-lit streets, use sidewalks when possible, and cross at designated crosswalks. Remind children to look both ways and make eye contact with drivers before crossing.
🧙♀️ Choose Costumes Wisely:
Opt for flame-resistant materials, avoid overly long costumes that can cause tripping, and use face paint instead of masks that block vision. Comfortable shoes can make a big difference, especially for long nights of trick-or-treating!
🍬 Check the Candy:
Before anyone digs in, inspect all treats for tampering or unwrapped items. It’s always better to be safe than sorry — and parents, maybe claim a few pieces for “quality control.” 😉
👫 Stay Together:
Younger children should always be accompanied by an adult, and older kids should go in groups. Set a meeting point and make sure everyone has a way to communicate in case someone gets separated.
🎃 Keep Decorations Safe:
If you’re setting up a spooky display, make sure walkways are clear, cords are taped down, and candles are placed safely away from anything flammable.
From our Cobalt Civil family to yours — have a fun, safe, and spooktacular Halloween! 🧡👷♂️🕸️
