How important is the vacuum on an AC system?

Many types of heating and cooling systems rely on refrigerants to transfer heat. They are often essential to how the refrigeration process works in AC equipment.

But, did you know refrigerants have enemies in an HVAC system? Any air, water, or nitrogen in the unit can prevent the refrigerant from doing its job correctly and cause damage to the equipment. The only other substance that can exist in the system is oil.

A proper vacuum will:
- Prevent your machine from freezing
- Increase the longevity of your compressor
- Prevent refrigerant gas contamination
- Save your money

Hire a licensed company to carry out work on your AC.

Benefits of Air Duct Cleaning

Air duct cleaning services are an important part of home maintenance. Air duct cleaning will not only get rid of dirt, dust and other particles, but it will also get rid of mold. Mold can be quite detrimental to human health. These spores can easily cause various symptoms to emerge, and they can cause someone who is immunocompromised to become more ill.

Mold can easily grow in air ducts when the conditions are right. This mainly means that it needs a warm environment with a lot of moisture. Unfortunately, your air ducts are usually warm and will usually be quite humid. They’re also located in areas that are not visible to us, so most homeowners don’t even realize that their air ducts are teeming with mold, bacteria, fungi and other microbes.

Air Conditioner Coil Cleaning

There’s nothing quite as refreshing as stepping into a cool, comfortable home on a hot, humid summer day. It’s a sensation we’ve enjoyed since 1902 when modern air conditioning was invented by Willis Carrier. For most people, it’s hard to imagine life without it. However, like many other mechanical devices, air conditioners require some basic cleaning and maintenance to continue operating at their best It’s kind of like when you buy a new car, you know the key to keeping it running its best is to keep the engine tuned up, the oil changed, and the wheels balanced and rotated. When it comes to central air conditioning, cleaning your air conditioner coils is integral to the long-term health of the system. Air conditioner coil cleaning is an important part of air conditioner maintenance and can help you save money, maintain efficiency and extend the system’s life expectancy.

The capacitor is one of the most important components of an air conditioning system. It’s also prone to failure, and when this happens, it can affect the performance and efficiency of the whole unit.

Why Does a Capacitor Go Bad?
The capacitor’s ability to store and release energy can cause it to overheat and wear out eventually. This can happen when the whole system runs for long periods of time. Capacitor failure can also be the result of a power surge, a lightning strike or fluctuations in the electric grid. In any case, it can overload and burn out the AC unit’s electrical components.

USING DELTA T TO DIAGNOSE COOLING ISSUES

Low Delta T: Delta T below approximately 16F can indicate a number of potential issues, including:

Undercharge or low refrigerant levels
A malfunctioning metering device
Too much airflow through the evaporator
Abnormally high humidity
Liquid line restriction
A malfunctioning compressor
Leaking reverse valves
Leaking return air ducts
