Sunday, on February 15th at 11 am I ran my second private chef trial run and it was success!! My wonderful neighbors’ parents, Ron and Rochelle, let me prepare a 3 course lunch in their beautiful home! 🤩
They requested an Asian cuisine with a gluten allergy, so I went with a Vietnamese style starting with a lemon grass marinated chicken rice paper roll with a homemade peanut sauce 🥜
For the entrée, I purchased a whole duck, dissected it, pan seared it with a housemade 5 spice, then finished it in the oven and served over coconut rice and roasted seasme bok choy 🥬
Then for dessert was supposed to be a classic Vietnamese pandan honeycomb cake called Bahn Bo Naung- it was my first time preparing it and the pandan didn’t arrive on time so I pivoted and when more with the coconut flavor and created a coconut cream glaze to go on top. Unfortunately the cake didn’t come out how I wanted it to and wasn’t a hit but I’m so glad I put myself out there and try something completely out of my comfort zone 😎
My neighbors got some amazing content and photos for me to share with you (no is it not Ai, the photos are really just that amazing) and I had such a fun time planning and executing this! Stay turned for Thursday, February 26th as I am going to be doing my third and final trial run- a fusion between Puerto Rican and Irish Cuisine!! 🍀
