Rob and I (Jess) have always been big DIYers (Do it Yourselfers). We love being creative to find inexpensive yet efficient ways of building or creating something ourselves. Since the economy isn’t great right now, everyone is trying to find ways to do the things on a low budget, and we’re in the same boat. If you’re a creative type like us, there are plenty of ways to reuse and recycle some things
you have around the house into a project that’s more useful, and even if you’re not as creative, there are tons of online resources and videos to show you how to do some projects using things you may never have thought of. On top of being big DIYers we’re also motivated by the concept of Self Sufficiency, Homesteading as well as learning Survivalist Skills that come in handy even if you’re not in a Survival situation, sometimes they’re just convenient skills to have, especially if you’re looking to be Self Sufficient or even Off Grid like we hope to be someday. We've been studying Herbs and Plants including backyard plants that are edible and useful. Rob knows various forms of Craftsmanship and I am a Crafter enjoying the arts of sewing, knitting, crocheting and many others that we'll be sharing here. Now that we bought our first house in Aug 2014 on about 2 acres, we'll be able to do a lot more DIY projects and Homesteading Projects towards our goals of being Self Suffiencient Homesteaders aiming towards being Off Grid. Eventually we hope for our homestead to make some money for us so that we can continue to grow. We wanted to start a website and a blog to share our ideas, projects with others so that other people with similar goals on a low budget can start achieving their ability to be more self sustainable as well. We'll also be growing and offering products and services too that can be purchased from us as our Homestead grows. We're just starting out but we'll be doing more and more as time goes on and we and our viewers can grow together. Please share your ideas and projects too we're always looking to learn new DIY projects.
