This was a challenging tile job. After demo of the crumbling slate tiles the concrete needed reformed and leveled. The metal schluter was bent to create a nice finish to the rounded edge. The hard porcelain tiles were rounded and the cut edges polished for a nice, chip free, finish. Change of plane cracks were filled with siliconized grout for a nice seal where grout usually develops cracks.

A complete shower remodel, this one is a favorite. Transforming a tiny walled off shower into a large walk-in shower using every skill and taking the time to make everything come out perfect. This involved cutting out the foundation to create a new shower pan that drains just right. Placing a drain 1 month before the tiles makes it hard to get the drain perfectly centered, but it came out that way. 20 Large format tiles and 5,300+ glass penny tiles are more difficult but worth the outcome. The floor is accented by glitter grout, which is expensive but stunning. Adding can lights for proper lighting and centering it all with the shower head, valve, and drain to make it easy on the eyes. I designed the shower, the customer selected the materials. The perfect mix of frustration and satisfaction. Eventually the rest of the bathroom will match.

For the courtyard to this unique O-shaped home the owners wanted to add some market lights for an added nighttime light option and appeal. Four 70’ strands of market lights were hung from custom steel cables and made detachable from eyelet hooks in the soffit framing. This is ~276’ of market lights total with 2’ spans between bulbs.

The original plaster ceiling was caving and the insulation was nonexistent here. The ceiling got demoed and new insulated was installed. Then stained tongue & groove board was installed along with crown molding to match other rooms in the house and add to this one.

For this built-in garage addition the goal was to create a bench with lockers and shelves for a family of 6. A great way to add to the home, keep things organized, have additional storage and a great place to sit/stand when getting ready or reaching for the top shelves. The bench is a durable redwood plywood that is finished and sealed. Sure IKEA stuff is fun to put together, deteriorates after a few years and you can take it with you but a custom built-in will add value for decades, hold weight and look much nicer.

This job was originally supposed to be a small job leveling the peninsula to 1 height for a new countertop. Then some mold was discovered and it was extensive. So the entire peninsula needed rebuilt. New framing, cabinets, disposals with countertop switches, faucets, outlets, water valves, drains, etc. were installed. The 250+ pound stone sink was installed with proper framing to support the weight in the cabinet this time. The microwave surrounding cabinets needed removed and reinstalled over the new countertop. A new microwave fitted and installed. The dishwasher lines ran correctly and dishwasher reinstalled. And for a new look, tongue & groove board was installed around the peninsula and stained to closely match the rest of the kitchen. The new cabinets had the old doors/hinges/drawers retrofitted and the new cabinets were stained to match.
