Had a Sunday full of inspections

Orlando ranked #2 and is the biggest reason for our attic insulation removals

WE MEAN ACTUAL RATS. WITH TAILS. 😂🐀

Pest-control company Orkin just released its 2026 ranking of America's rattiest cities, and Tampa came in at #22 nationwide, making it Florida's highest-ranked city.

Meanwhile, Miami landed at #26 and Orlando at #32.

The rankings are based on new residential rodent treatments, so nobody actually went door-to-door counting rats. Although we'd pay good money to watch someone try.

Somewhere across the bridge, a rat is living rent-free, eating somebody else's groceries, and contributing absolutely NOTHING to the household 😌

ST. PETE, ARE WE ALLOWED TO LAUGH, OR SHOULD WE START CHECKING OUR OWN ATTICS? 😭👇

The new Terminix report ranks Orlando 2nd in Florida and #18 in the nation for rat infestations and we believe it!

Attic Pros is performing full attic makeovers every week removing all that nasty and contaminated insulation and replacing it with clean material for a healthier home

On top of using your attic for a litter box and positioning your air quality, rats and rodents end up causing damage to electrical and HVAC components, soffits, and other parts of your home

It's nasty, it's hot, and sometimes we're swimming in rat dropping at 7 AM, but the end result of a healthier home with better energy efficiency is highly motivating

Orlando might be home to the mouse, but do you really want them in your house?

"The other quote we got didn't even mention baffles" is something we hear too often

🏠💨 ATTIC BAFFLES: A SMALL DETAIL THAT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE!

Did you know attic baffles play an important role in keeping your attic properly ventilated? 👀

At Attic Pros, we know that a properly insulated attic needs more than just insulation — it needs proper airflow, too!

✅ Improved Ventilation: Attic baffles help maintain a clear pathway for outside air to travel from your soffit vents into your attic and toward the exhaust vents. They also prevent wind wash from unevenly displacing insulation.

✅ Protect Your Insulation: Baffles help prevent insulation from blocking soffit vents, keeping your attic ventilation pathways open.

✅ Help Manage Moisture: Proper airflow can help reduce moisture buildup in the attic when combined with proper air sealing and moisture control.

✅ Support Energy Efficiency: Keeping ventilation pathways clear allows cooler fresh air to reduce attic temperature and heat load allowing the insulation to slow less heat transfer.

✅ Help Protect Your Roof: Properly designed attic ventilation can help manage heat and moisture conditions that contribute to roofing problems.

🌴 Especially here in Florida! Our hot, humid climate makes proper attic design, air sealing, insulation, and ventilation important for your home’s comfort and long-term performance.

A good attic inspection also includes checking the attic ventilation, insulation, HVAC, and more!

This house was having severe humidity issues from two issues, low insulation and a closed ridge vent not allowing any hot air to escape the attic. This trapped air can increase Florida attic temperatures from a normal 140° to 160° degrees or higher!

We opened the vent and increased the insulation to an R38 value providing instant relief to this home. Book your free inspection with Arthur at 321-352-2377

If you're buying a new home it's a great idea to have the attic insulation properly inspected to make sure 1, it's up to code at minimum and 2, it's not contaminated and in need of replacement.

For this property it was the latter and the attic had been infested with mice. Unforgettably, and in good faith, the seller asked for a complete insulation removal, air seal, sanitize, and R38 install of all 3793 ft.² to give the new owners a healthy and more energy efficient new start.

Clean air is important and your attic plays a major role in home health and air quality.
