Here in the South, mold is an unavoidable reality. Even in the worst cases, however, there is hope! This lovely older County jumping saddle has been cleaned and the wool flocking replaced with new, clean material, and is ready for action again. Restoration of a late 19th/early 20th century Fred Mueller saddle. The old lady had seen a lot of hard times, including 2 hurricanes, a tornado, and a house fire, before landing on my bench. She and I spent 8 months together (5 of which were just slowly introducing moisture back into the leather to keep cracking to a minimum). New skirts, fenders, leathers, rope straps, glaze, saddle strings, conchos, and repairs tailored to fit the aesthetic the client desired, and she was sent on her way to take her place as a beloved family heirloom for many years to come.
