In Maine, you can ride rail bikes past the beautiful Green Lake and Little Rocky Pond in the downeast region of the state with Revolution Rail Co. in Dedham, Maine! This 7-mile round trip leaves from Jenkins Beach Station at 211 Green Lake Rd and runs about two hours, with tours starting May 22 and continuing most Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through summer. After a short safety talk, you’ll set off on all-electric assist rail bikes, so you can pedal or just sit back and ride. The track hugs the clear shoreline of Green Lake, with calm water, rocky islands, and thick pine forest all around. You’ll then roll along Little Rocky Pond before stopping halfway for a short break, where guides share local history. It’s quiet except for the soft hum of the bikes and sounds of nature. With 2-seat ($100) and 4-seat ($180) options, it’s great for all ages and makes for a memorable family outing here in this beautiful area not far from Bar Harbor, Maine!
