Redhouse Architecture + Design

Redhouse Architecture + Design Chris Campbell, Architect The original Red House was designed in 1859 for William Morris, father of the Arts and Crafts movement in England.

It is considered by architectural historians as the first "modern" home. Eschewing Victorian excess in favor of a more simplified design, Morris and his architect Phillip Webb created a charming and livable family home. It was described by Dante Rossetti, prominent artist of the time, as "more a poem than a house." The home’s bright, airy spaces and intrinsic connection to the garden set a new sta

ndard for residential design - that of informality, structural integrity and the celebration of quality craftsmanship. Today, REDHOUSE Architecture Design brings Morris’ values to the 21st century by adapting the very best of traditional design to complement modern living. Architect Chris Campbell and her team offer you a full range of architecture and design services, specializing in residential design and historic preservation. Flat fee consultation services are also available.

When I'm designing your house I'm choreographing your days,
