This species of Joe pye is Eutrochium maculatum, known as spotted Joe pye (spots on the stem). Natural range is much smaller than yesterday’s species and mainly in NE Georgia. It is often sold as a cultivar known as ‘Gateway,’ grown for its shorter stature (4-6 feet); it would work on patios, in a large pot where it does need to be watered every day because pots can dry out faster than regular ground plantings. Joe pye w**d can be browsed by deer so site accordingly.
