This house sale wasn’t about the money to me . It took me a year to remodel this 1958 house and make it a home. The day this single mom and kids looked at it the little girl said “momma will be safe here?” …. I walked her to the end of the driveway and pointed just down the road and said “look at that cop car that’s the police station right there they will protect you”.

They were victims of domestic violence and desperately needed a safe place to call home. I knew that this house belonged to them …. And all my hard work was for them and the very moment in which we existed …

It took 110 days to complete this transaction. The days turned to months and with each day my bank account was dwindling down to nothing. So much that this morning before we signed papers I called my Dad and asked for a $200 loan. I told him I really wanted to give the kids something to celebrate when they walked in the door of their new home.

It wasn’t much and most of it was dollar store items. But I wanted the entire family to feel seen, loved, protected, and appreciated.

This closes the chapter on yet another house flip where I turn abandoned houses into homes 🏠
