Nine years at Cloud Cover, and I’m pretty sure yesterday wins the award for STRANGEST day at the office.

Our building’s HVAC system malfunctioned in spectacular fashion, sending a mystery pink liquid pouring through the ceiling and creating a river of red through our offices.
And because we take network security very seriously, Luis made sure to rescue a client firewall from the flood.
Because when we say Cloud Cover takes your network security seriously, apparently that now includes protecting your firewall from both cyber threats and mysterious HVAC fluids.

Firewalls: secured.
Employees: mostly dry.
Office: questionable, but surprise renovations underway.

After nine years here, I’ve seen plenty of weird IT situations. I can safely say this is the first one that ended with me looking down the hallway and wondering when the twins from The Shining were going to appear.
All work and no play makes Cloud Cover a dull MSP. 😬And to truly see how insane this was, check out the video!

I missed posting yesterday for Women’s Equality Day, but I still wanted to take a minute to recognize and thank the women who have been such an important part of our team over the years.

Technology is still a male-dominated industry, but we’ve been fortunate to have incredibly talented women helping shape our company from the beginning. They’ve led, solved problems, supported our clients, kept us organized, challenged us, and helped build the culture we have today.
We simply wouldn’t be the company we are without them.

So, a slightly belated but very sincere thank you to the women who are part of our team today, and those who have been part of our story along the way. Your contributions have made us better.
Happy Women’s Equality Day.

I spend a lot of time talking with business owners about AI, and one thing has become pretty clear:
Most businesses just want practical ways to use it.
That’s what I’ll be talking about at Innovate New Albany on Friday, September 11 during Clear the Clutter: How Your Business Can Use AI to Cut Out the Daily Grind.
We’ll look at some of the everyday work that eats up time, from repetitive tasks and follow-ups to searching for information and managing routine processes, and talk about where AI can realistically help.
