— Best practices when it's extremely cold. —
Install a new air filter. Leave your thermostat at a consistent temperature. Minimize usage of exhaust fans (bath vents, range hoods, and dryers). Boiler systems with base board heating make sure vents are open and unobstructed. (Couch’s and drapery).
Inspect your venting outside for obstructions.
Fresh batteries in your carbon monoxide detectors. Reminder these devices have a shelf life. Update them and have them on every level of the home.
