Check out the before and after of the roof on this addition. We added some slope to it and replaced the metal with shingles, along with replacing the whole main roof. This really enhances the curb appeal and will shed water away from the home.

Happy National Ag Day! A few years ago I wrote a poem summarizing the life of a Farmer and thought it would be appropriate to share on this day celebrating Agriculture.

The Farmer's Way - By Virginia Jones

Rough hands and suntanned skin
That’s how I’ll always remember him
Up before the sun, to start the day
That’s just the Farmer’s way

From experiencing the joy of newborns in the Spring
The howling and chilly winds of winter, making your ears ring
Mending a fence, chopping thistles, and feeding hay
That’s just the Farmer’s way

A helping hand to a neighbor in need
Always willing to accomplish a good deed
He passes on his knowledge to the next generation
So that someday they can feed the nation
The hardest work, but not the most pay
That’s just the Farmer’s way
