We are so pleased to see the Terrapin Ridge Housing Community in Sandwich come to completion and happy to have participated in the ribbon cutting last month. A long awaited, and much needed, 30 unit affordable housing development featuring a Community Building and 8 residential buildings. The development boasts high efficiency systems, solar panels on all buildings, a high performance envelope, a generator serving the Community Building, plenty of open space along with an accessible playground serving multiple age groups, and a beautiful wooded area along the back of the property.

We are very proud to have been a part of this project from the early design stages. Thank you to all of the important team members - Sandwich Housing Authority, Womens Institute for Housing and Economic Development, Christine Rogers, Preservation of Affordable Housing, Dellbrook/JKS, Coastal Engineering, Dharshini Joseph Landscape Architecture, Griffith & Vary Engineering, Consulting Structural Engineers, and Waypoint KLA.

Cape Cod Village has been selected by Orleans Stop & Shop as a beneficiary of the Stop & Shop Community Bag Program for the month of February!

When you buy a reusable Community bag for $2.50, $1 is donated to Cape Cod Village. These donations help Cape Cod Village fulfill their mission of meeting the ongoing community and residential living needs of adults on the autism spectrum.

Here’s a very simple way to give!

We have been selected for the Stop & Shop community bag program for the month of February. For every community bag purchased during the month of February at the Orleans Stop&Shop we will receive a $1.00.

Starting 2021 off right with a rail system delivery from Switzerland - a major project milestone at the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum's Bradford Access project!

MAAB accessibility work including handicapped parking spaces and an accessible walk to the monument base platform nears completion. Both upper and lower landings for the inclined elevator await floors, roof and glass (to be installed in the next few months). All steel and concrete structures are in place. The rail system from Switzerland has arrived, and the project team has began the install process. The doors and cab are awaiting to ship for delivery from Switzerland. Stay tuned for updates

With the holiday season fast approaching, we would like to announce this year we will be supporting CORD - Cape Organization for Rights of the Disabled’s Mobile Food Pantry! Their mission with the mobile food pantry is to help the 10,000 people with disabilities on Cape Cod who are experiencing food insecurity. Many people with disabilities are unable to get to the food pantry in their town due to a lack of transportation or because their disabilities prevent them from getting there. CORD’s Mobile Food Pantry brings supplemental food to people with disabilities on Cape Cod.

CORD is looking for non-perishable food items for donation. They are in desperate need of high protein foods such as canned tuna fish, nuts, peanut butter and other nut butters. They also help the homeless population who benefit from non-perishable items that have pull-tab tops such a soups and spaghetti-o’s. Next time you are in the office, keep an eye-out for a cardboard box for donations. All food collected will be collected for delivery to CORD on Monday, December 14th.

Project Progress from the Field - Terrapin Ridge, an affordable housing project in Sandwich, MA is approaching the project's halfway point of construction. Seven of the nine total buildings have been framed and are in various phases of progress. Once completed, the community will include 8 new residential buildings, and 1 community building. There will be a total of 30 new housing units made up of one, two and three bedroom ADA flat style units, and two and three bedroom townhouse style units. There will also be Community Based Housing Units, ADA units and units built for sensory impairments.

We are proud to support the Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative! This Friday we will be virtually attending their Net Zero Conference. The conference will communicate the roles clean energy programs, public-private partnerships, financial incentives, entrepreneurial opportunities, and individual actions play in growing our economy and improving the environment - all while recovering from Covid-19 impacts and moving the region toward NetZero.
