Who remembers dancing around the May pole in school? At my elementary school, there was always a May day celebration with pretty flowers crafted by all classes, May pole dances with colorful streamers, and snacks all the parents sent to school for the occasion.

I used to love dancing around the maypole when I was a child. 🌿🪻

Forget big sweeping lawns of perfectly manicured grass. Give me a yard full of native plants, a wandering path through vegetables, flowers, herbs, and the so-called "weeds" that are really beneficial native plants that are good for our health and that of their local environment.

Daffodils have been in bloom for a couple of weeks now. I never knew how much I liked these spring flowers until we moved here. As much as I hate the summer heat and humidity, seeing these bright blooms pop up to usher in warmer weather still makes me smile.
