Today is Mom’s 85 th birthday.🎂
Many of you know that Bev is my stepmom. She married my dad 2 years after my birth mother Marion died .
Bev/ Mom was charmed by my handsome father . She at a young age
became stepmother to 5 children and teens. Right away I think I called her Mom. And very soon after we had the happy arrival of my beautiful sister Lysa. Our home had happiness again. ♥️
Mom has been a rock for me since the age of 5. Always there through marital and family issues. ❤️ Often quietly managing her own medical
Complexities most of her adult life.
Being a power of example to her children… Lysa and me. Caring stepmother to my older siblings. A loving Grandmother and Great grandmother. For years she would visit Dad daily while he was slowly taken from us.
She has always been the rock of her siblings. And dedicated daughter to Gram/ Ruth till she passed.
Also as I grew out of my teen years and it was clear that I was a gay son. She would encourage Dad to love me. Because his instincts were not that.
I want to summarize my 2nd Mother to you . She has never asked or expected to be on a pedestal. She was the strength behind with my Father’s big personality. They stayed married for 40 years until he passed2007.I have never ever heard her complain about her marks that were placed on her by fate.
The decades of operations. Pain and disfigurement. I once said to her … Thank you for staying here . I meant that on many levels.
Bev/ Mom has changed the life of this sad little boy who became a proud strong gay Man. With a Mother I love to the moon and back. As time passes I pray that she feels the love of a life well lived. And a gift to all who know her.
