Meter and panel upgrade!

BEFORE ➡️ AFTER

This customer called us because they knew it was overdue for this electrical panel to be swapped out. It still had screw in fuses, 2 old rusty meter bases (1 wasn’t used in years), and the wire feeding the meter base was falling apart which left wires exposed to the elements.

We came in and -
• Removed the old meter bases and installed a new one
• Ran new wire from the electrical companies feed down to the new meter base
• Ran new wire from the meter base to the new electrical panel
• Removed the old electrical panel, old disconnect, and old junction boxes
• Mounted new plywood to protect the panel
• Installed a new Square D electrical panel
• Cleaned all of the old wiring and area up to make 1 clean, central location without any confusion

Do you know what causes these pipes on top of the water heater to bend in? 🤔

This is caused by high water pressure in the home. It sounds innocent. But high water pressure can cause a lot of damage. In this case, it bent the pipes on top of the water heater (which easily could have caused these CPVC pipes to snap- thankfully for this homeowner, we came out before that happened), it caused their thermal expansion tank to go bad, and ultimately it caused their water heat to leak and have to be replaced.

In addition to all of the things mentioned above, it could also cause damage to washing machines, dishwashers, and other home appliances or fixtures.

Don’t worry though! It’s a relatively easy fix! You will need a PRV or pressure regulator valve installed. We generally want the water pressure to be around 65 PSI-75 PSI for safe operating pressure.

This customer had a PRV installed and opted to go for a tankless water heater install for endless hot water.

Check out this boiler swap out that we just wrapped up!

We were able to make this area more compact for the customer so that they had more usable space in their laundry room.

It’s not just about making something work, it’s about making it work more efficiently for the customer, making their lives easier, and getting rid of something that used to be an eye sore and replacing it with something that was installed with care.
