In the event that your Garage Door Opener/Motor goes out, there is a temporary way to close your Garage Door. You will know if there’s a problem if your remote or wall buttons will not open or close your door. You can use this until you can get a qualified technician out to your home (preferably Horton’s😁)
****On the long rail that you will see located and attached between the opener/motor and the door, you will see the “Emergency Release Cord”. Just grab firmly and pull. It will set the door in motion. Just pull in the direction you wish the door to go.
**** Remember this a temporary solution and you should have it fixed ASAP. Even manually, using ERC( emergency release cord ) will continue to put weight, wear, and tear, on springs and other door components.
