A friendly reminder: Always make sure the company or individual you hire is properly licensed and insured.
We cannot tell you how many times we have been called to jobs to correct damage or poor workmanship caused by hiring someone who was not licensed or insured.
Choosing a qualified, insured professional protects your property, your investment, and your peace of mind.
Don't take unnecessary risks when it comes to your home and property. Always verify licensing and insurance before hiring!
UNLICENSED CONTRACTING ARRESTS: Nine people were arrested during an unlicensed contractor operation conducted this week by the Pasco Sheriff’s Office Economic Crimes Unit, according to the agency.
Investigators said the individuals offered contracting services that included electrical work, plumbing, water heater installation and air conditioning installation. None had the required licenses to perform the jobs they quoted during the operation, the Sheriff’s Office said.
An accompanying agency graphic identified those arrested and the businesses or services they represented as:
* Jonnathan Alvarezdelreal — Life Voltage & Group, LLC
* David Blanco Arocha — Mustang Power
* Alejandro Miguel De La Fe Correa — Trenchless Pipe Solutions, LLC
* Matthew Alexander Dunscomb — Independent handyman
* Ernesto Gonzalez Hernandez — Game of Service
* Diosbel Peguero — Venturion Air
* Ramon Alfonso Martinez Pena — Handyman AC & Electricity
* Andrei Kirdishchev — Andrei Electrical & Handyman Service
* William Austin Pullie Jr. — Independent handyman
The Sheriff’s Office warned that hiring unlicensed contractors can expose customers to financial losses and potential liability for damages, while limiting their options if a contractor fails to complete the work.
Residents were urged to verify contractors’ credentials before hiring them.
The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation assisted with the operation.
