Xuất phát điểm của dự án là bài toán tái cấu trúc để tạo nên một không gian ẩm thực phản ánh tinh thần của mô hình chợ và hàng gánh Việt Nam, nơi ranh giới giữa chế biến và thưởng thức được xóa bỏ. MIA đã tổ chức lại không gian của dự án nhà hàng Lách Ca Lách Cách theo hướng mở, liên thông giữa khu vực ngồi và quầy pha chế, tạo nên trục nhìn thông suốt, nơi ánh sáng tự nhiên và gió được khai thác triệt để. Hệ vách ngăn di động bằng kính ép vải được thiết kế như một yếu tố kiến trúc linh hoạt, cho phép điều chỉnh không gian theo nhu cầu sử dụng. Chi tiết này hoạt động như một màng lọc thị giác linh hoạt: vừa phân định công năng khi cần thiết, vừa duy trì sự llền mạch của ánh sáng và mở rộng không gian cho các hoạt động phục vụ.

Về vật liệu, sàn và quầy được xử lý đồng bộ với nhịp gạch, tạo nên sự đồng nhất, kết hợp cùng bề mặt thô mộc, đưa cảm giác phóng khoáng của không gian bên ngoài vào trong không gian nội thất.

Đây là một dự án MIA chuyển hóa ký ức tập thể về chợ Việt thành ngôn ngữ trong không gian. Nhà hàng Lách Ca Lách Cách là sự giao thoa giữa truyền thống và hiện đại, thiết lập một mô hình trong việc tái cấu trúc không gian thương mại, nơi kiến trúc không chỉ đáp ứng chức năng mà còn là phương tiện kết nối văn hóa, con người và ký ức.

The starting point of the project was a spatial restructuring problem, to create a dining environment that reflects the spirit of Vietnamese market stalls and street vendors, where the boundary between preparation and consumption is dissolved. MIA reorganized the layout of Lach Ca Lach Cach Restaurant toward an open configuration, with the seating area and bar counter connected in a continuous flow, establishing a clear sightline throughout the space where natural light and ventilation are fully utilized. The movable partition system, constructed from fabric-laminated glass, functions as a flexible architectural element that allows the space to be reconfigured according to operational needs. It acts as a visual filter: defining zones when required, while maintaining light continuity and expanding the space for service activities.

In terms of materiality, the floor and counter surfaces are treated as a unified whole through a consistent tile rhythm, creating a seamless quality throughout. Combined with raw, unfinished surfaces, the interior takes on the openness and ease typically associated with outdoor spaces.

Lach Ca Lach Cach is a project in which MIA translates collective memory of the Vietnamese market into spatial language, where tradition and contemporary practice intersect, and where architecture serves not only function but also as a means of connecting culture, people, and memory.

Dự án Lotus Clubhouse chính thức góp mặt trong vòng chung kết Giải thưởng IDPA lần thứ 8 năm 2026 tại Nhật Bản, đồng thời được vinh danh trong danh sách "Finalist" của Architizer A+Awards 2026.

Đây là sự ghi nhận từ cộng đồng kiến trúc quốc tế dành cho định hướng thiết kế bền vững mà MIA theo đuổi, nơi kiến trúc và thiên nhiên tạo nên những giá trị lâu dài cho con người. Từ một mặt bằng có nhiều ràng buộc, MIA Design Studio sử dụng giải pháp giải phóng không gian: tái cấu trúc toàn bộ bố cục để mang đến trải nghiệm ẩm thực mới mẻ và chân thực cho dự án nhà hàng Lách Ca Lách Cách.

Gỗ tự nhiên, kết cấu thô mộc và ánh sáng ấm trở thành ngôn ngữ chủ đạo. Không gian của công trình mô phỏng hình ảnh hàng quán với bếp mở và những chiếc ghế quây quanh, quầy kệ bày biện như gánh hàng đầy ắp món ngon. Giải pháp này định hình quan hệ giữa người phục vụ và người thưởng thức, đưa quá trình chế biến trở thành một phần của trải nghiệm ẩm thực.

Hệ kệ và thép gân chịu lực xuyên suốt không gian được lấy cảm hứng từ hình ảnh cầu gỗ. Từ cấu trúc ấy, các vị trí ngồi và vật dụng bếp được sắp xếp linh hoạt, có thể thay đổi theo từng kịch bản sử dụng mà không làm mất đi tính nhất quán của không gian tổng thể. Thép gân hiện đại, khoẻ khoắn chịu lực chính liên kết các mảng gỗ mang lại cảm giác gần gũi và chắc chắn. Từng chi tiết được tiết chế tinh tế, để ký ức và hiện tại cùng hiện diện trong một không gian giàu cảm xúc, vừa thân quen nhưng cũng vừa mới lạ.

From a constrained floor plan, MIA Design Studio applied a "space liberation" approach - restructuring the entire layout to deliver a more authentic and dynamic dining experience for Lach Ca Lach Cach.

Natural wood, raw textures, and warm light form the primary design language. The space draws from the image of a street food stall: an open kitchen surrounded by seating, shelves arranged like a vendor's cart loaded with dishes. This configuration redefines the relationship between those who cook and those who dine, making the act of preparation a visible part of the dining experience itself.

The shelving system and load-bearing ribbed steel running throughout the space take reference from the structure of a wooden bridge. From that framework, seating positions and kitchen elements are arranged with flexibility, adaptable to different scenarios without compromising the spatial coherence of the whole. The ribbed steel, robust and structural, connects the timber panels and grounds the space with a sense of solidity. Each detail is kept restrained, allowing memory and the present to coexist without one overtaking the other.

Sạp chợ cùng hàng gánh bán bưng luôn là thứ hấp dẫn nhất ở đường phố Việt Nam. Quầy kệ dựng vội, hàng hóa trưng bày không theo thứ tự nào, vậy mà ai cũng muốn đứng lại. Những hàng quán nhỏ ven đường, gánh hàng rong len lỏi trong các ngõ nhỏ đến những phố xá đông đúc tạo nên một không khí đô thị độc đáo.

Không khí náo nhiệt không đâu rõ ràng bằng ở chợ và vỉa hè. Lộn xộn, đông đúc nhưng lại là thứ người ta nhớ nhất mỗi khi đi xa. Và với MIA, đó cũng là nơi cảm hứng thiết kế bắt đầu.

Market stalls and shoulder-borne street vendors are always the most captivating sights on Vietnamese streets. Makeshift counters are set up in a hurry, goods are displayed without any particular order, yet everyone feels compelled to stop and look. Small roadside shops and roaming vendors weaving through narrow alleys to bustling streets together create a distinctive urban atmosphere.

The energy of the market and the sidewalk is unlike anywhere else. Chaotic and crowded, yet it is precisely what people remember most whenever they are far from home. And for MIA, that is also where the design inspiration begins.

Tương lai của kiến trúc tại châu Á có thể sẽ phụ thuộc vào cách chúng ta ứng xử với thiên nhiên

Khi các đô thị châu Á ngày càng phát triển với tốc độ nhanh hơn, kiến trúc không còn chỉ là câu chuyện về công năng hay thẩm mỹ, mà còn liên quan đến khí hậu, cảnh quan và chất lượng sống của con người.

Đây cũng là một trong những nội dung được chia sẻ tại 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 diễn ra tại Singapore, nơi MIA Design Studio giới thiệu các dự án như 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 và 𝗟𝗼𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲.

Trong điều kiện khí hậu nhiệt đới, MIA tin rằng kiến trúc cần hoà hợp cùng thiên nhiên thay vì chống lại thiên nhiên. Cây xanh, gió, ánh sáng, mặt nước hay các khoảng chuyển tiếp có bóng mát không chỉ là yếu tố trang trí, mà là một phần trong giải pháp không gian và môi trường của công trình.

Thông qua các dự án của mình, MIA tiếp tục tìm kiếm giải pháp để kiến trúc có thể hòa vào cảnh quan một cách nhẹ nhàng hơn, tạo nên những không gian yên tĩnh, thông thoáng tự nhiên và kết nối nhiều hơn với môi trường xung quanh. Với MIA, kiến trúc bền vững không chỉ nằm ở khía cạnh công nghệ, mà còn ở cách con người cảm nhận không gian và kết nối lại với thiên nhiên thông qua kiến trúc.

Bởi có lẽ, kiến trúc bền vững trong tương lai không nằm ở việc chinh phục mà là học cách hoà hợp với thiên nhiên.

The Future of Architecture in Asia may depend on how we respond to nature

As Asian cities continue to urbanise rapidly, architecture can no longer be separated from climate, landscape, and human wellbeing. As climate pressure and urban density continue to reshape cities across Asia, architects are increasingly challenged to create spaces that are not only functional, but also environmentally responsive and emotionally restorative.

This was one of the key conversations shared at the 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 in Singapore, where MIA Design Studio presented projects such as 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 and 𝗟𝗼𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲.

In tropical environments, we believe architecture should work with nature rather than against it. Greenery, wind, daylight, water, and shaded transitions are not decorative elements, but part of the environmental and spatial strategy itself.

Through our projects, we continue exploring how architecture can merge more gently into the landscape, creating spaces that feel calmer, naturally ventilated, and more connected to their surroundings. Because sustainability, to us, is not only about technology, but also about how people experience and reconnect with nature through architecture.

Because perhaps the future of sustainable architecture is not about dominating nature, but learning how to belong to it again.

MIA xin gửi lời chúc một năm mới thịnh vượng, đổi mới và bứt phá tới cộng đồng kiến trúc, đối tác và những người đồng hành cùng chúng tôi. Mong rằng năm mới sẽ mở ra một giai đoạn phát triển thuận lợi, quy mô hơn, táo bạo hơn và giàu cảm hứng hơn cho ngành nghề và thị trường phía trước.

As the world enters a new era - the era of digital technology, where artificial intelligence is driving breakthrough advancements, creative industries are facing unprecedented opportunities, including architecture. MIA Design Studio believes that AI is a powerful tool to support and expand the possibilities of research, experimentation, and idea realization. The New Year - the Year of Bính Ngọ, carries the spirit of “swift success upon arrival”: strength, resilience, abundant energy, and constant forward momentum. The image of the Bát Mã - eight galloping horses, symbolizes powerful yang energy, prosperity, and advancement. The number 8, phonetically associated with “prosperity,” conveys a wish for breakthrough growth and flourishing success in the coming year.

We hope the new year will open a phase of more favorable, larger-scale, bolder, and more inspiring development for the industry and the market ahead.

Với dự án HEC, MIA Design Studio đồng hành cùng Unios, tiếp cận cải tạo theo hướng can thiệp tối thiểu, tổ chức lại không gian dựa trên trục nhìn, nhịp di chuyển và trải nghiệm của người tham quan. Ánh sáng được sử dụng như một chất liệu thiết kế độc lập, làm rõ cấu trúc, nhấn mạnh vật liệu và tạo nên sự chuyển tiếp tinh tế giữa kiến trúc cũ và mới.
HEC không chỉ là một không gian trưng bày, mà là một trải nghiệm kiến trúc, nơi ánh sáng kích hoạt lại vòng đời sử dụng của công trình di sản bằng tư duy đương đại.

For the HEC project, MIA Design Studio, in collaboration with Unios, adopts a minimal-intervention approach to renovation, reorganizing the space based on visual axes, movement rhythms, and visitor experience. Light is employed as an independent design medium, clarifying spatial structure, emphasizing materiality, and creating subtle transitions between the existing architecture and contemporary interventions.
HEC is not merely an exhibition space, but an architectural experience, where light reactivates the life cycle of a heritage building through a contemporary design perspective.
