Hi everyone! For quite some time now I have been working on an upcoming project, the name of which isn’t yet final, but I believe to sound something like “Identiteti”.
I’ve “struggled” with the thought of whether I share it to people or not. I decided that for right now, I’ll let you see and understand only a part of it, the painting below, which somehow led me create a whole concept for this new on going project.
This painting was finished during 2020 and named after my name, “Erlisa”.
Here’s a small description of the work:
Lucretia’s r**e and su***de made a revolution to the Roman Empire. She was dead and managed to make powerful changes.
On my work I, on top of Lucretias (Rembrandt’s variant) body painted my own portrait, this way presenting the power I hold as a youngster, a female and most importantly, as a human. Different from Lucretia, I am able to make changes to my own reality, while alive.
I call “Erlisa” the revolution of her dimension, the same way I see everybody out there, as the key to the change they’re willing to become.
My painting can be interpreted in any way you choose to understand it. (If you come up with a different interpretation please reach out to me! I would love to see from other’s perspectives).
Swipe to see different parts and angles of “Erlisa”.
(The last two slides of the post contain details about Lucretias story, feel free to read them and get a better sense of my concept).
