Wir freuen uns riesig über einen internationalen Wettbewerbserfolg in Pristina!
Gemeinsam mit unserem Projektpartner LSN (LSNarkitekt) haben wir den 1. Preis für den Dr. Ibrahim Rugova Memorial Park & Presidential Library gewonnen, ausgeschrieben von der Stadtverwaltung Prishtina.
Im Herzen Pristinas entsteht ein neuer Ort der Erinnerung, der Offenheit und der Begegnung: ein grüner, öffentlicher Park und eine Präsidialbibliothek mit rund 4.300 m². Diese umfasst Flächen für Ausstellungen, eine Bibliothek, Konferenzräume und ein öffentlich zugängliches Dach mit Open Air Auditorium.
Besonders prägend: die umlaufende Fassade, inspiriert vom Schal Ibrahim Rugovas – ein starkes Symbol für Zusammenhalt und Würde. Als begehbare Rampe führt sie die Besucherinnen und Besucher bis aufs Dach und verbindet Architektur, Stadt und Geschichte. Auf die nächsten Schritte!

We are thrilled to share our international competition success in Pristina!
Together with our project partner LSN (), we have won 1st Prize for the Dr. Ibrahim Rugova Memorial Park & Presidential Library, organized by the Municipality of Prishtina.
In the heart of Pristina, a new place of remembrance, openness, and encounter is taking shape: a green public park and a presidential library with around 4,300 m², including exhibition spaces, a library, conference rooms, and a publicly accessible rooftop with an open air auditorium.
A defining feature of the design is the building’s continuous façade, inspired by Ibrahim Rugova’s iconic scarf – a powerful symbol of unity and dignity. As a walkable ramp, it leads visitors up to the roof, connecting architecture, city, and history.
We are proud of this project, set to become a new landmark for Pristina, and deeply grateful to everyone involved for their dedication, perseverance, and team spirit. On to the next steps!

Project Title: House in the Horizon

Concept and Site Integration

Perched on a natural ridge that opens toward an endless horizon of mist and mountains, House in the Horizon by LSN+PARTNERS emerges as a refined dialogue between landscape, materiality, and human emotion. The project is conceived as a continuous topography — a sculpted form that seamlessly extends from the terrain, merging architecture with the natural morphology of the site.

The building’s silhouette follows the organic folds of the hill, integrating green roofs, native vegetation, and stone textures that echo the surrounding forest. The design seeks not to dominate the site but to disappear within it, inviting the landscape to flow through every architectural gesture.

Architectural Language and Materiality

The architectural composition is defined by monolithic planes of exposed concrete and warm timber, establishing a balance between permanence and intimacy. The building’s roof becomes both a viewing platform and an ecological surface — layered with Mediterranean vegetation, gravel, and light-reflecting surfaces that shift with the sun’s trajectory.

Large panoramic openings blur the boundary between interior and exterior, framing the ever-changing mist and distant mountains. The play of light, texture, and reflection transforms the house into a meditative instrument — one that resonates with silence, nature, and time.

Interior Atmosphere

The interior maintains a minimalist philosophy grounded in craftsmanship and emotion. Soft natural light floods through floor-to-ceiling glazing, animating the neutral tones of concrete, stone, and wood.

Sustainability and Design Ethos

The project emphasizes ecological sensitivity and low-impact construction. Passive ventilation, natural insulation, and local materials reduce environmental footprint while maintaining a timeless aesthetic. The green roof contributes to thermal balance and biodiversity, allowing the architecture to evolve organically with its environment.

This project reflects our approach to the renovation of an existing building, adapting it to its new function. The treatment of the façade represents an innovative effort on our part, as a studio, to bring a fresh and creative approach, not only to the nature of the building itself but also to the context of our country as a whole.

In particular, the project emphasizes the kinetic character of the façade, which not only makes the building visually dynamic but also enhances its functional performance by contributing to the control of natural lighting and ventilation within the interior spaces. This interactive element not only increases the building’s energy efficiency but also creates a unique visual and aesthetic experience for the surrounding community. As a result, the building aims to become a landmark and an inspiring example of contemporary architecture in the area.

The white hue and the transparent character of the kinetic façade imparts a sense of calmness and purity, while its dynamic nature introduces movement and adaptability. This combination creates a harmonious balance between tranquility and energy, enhancing the building’s aesthetic appeal.

This architectural project showcases a modern, mixed use complex located in Podgorica, Montenegro. The building is an embodiment of multiple purposes with the initial aim to transform the typically known cold and uninviting industrial spaces. This was primarily achieved with the inclusion of a broad variety of purposes such as industrial, commercial, administrative and recreational. The blending of these different yet complementary destinations, allow us to manufacture a desirable environment in a rather unexciting environment.
The complex consists of a total of four buildings, each containing a variety of destinations for multiple uses. The first building is a fusion of two separate areas containing a showroom and an office building, the second building similar to the first one also consists of two separate areas, one playground and a second office building. The third building is the technical control building, with its complementary administrative part, and the last building is a petrol station with its auxiliary areas.
The initial industrial purpose of the building is complemented entirely on the ground at the basement level, leading the space clogging and noise producing element of the industrial spaces to a minimum and as a bonus gifting the landscape to other users.
Another key point of the design was the preservation of the domestic vegetation, by designing carefully around it, and also relocating the trees from the occupied areas throughout the landscape.
In the exterior approach the design emphasizes transparency and lightness through the use of a translucent envelope facade that gently wraps the structure, allowing natural light to permeate the interior spaces, also playing a key part on the flexibility of the building, allowing it to change purpose according to users’ needs and maintain its function through time
The building's clean lines and minimalist aesthetic are complemented by the existing lush landscape, creating a harmonious blend of nature and architecture.
