New extension and alterations to an existing Edwardian house near the village of Barnoldby le Beck. The proposals call for the unsympathetic workshop and garage to be altered and converted to create a new dining / living area and accompanying GYM / training swimming pool. These new additions are centered around a newly created courtyard area, which benefits direct access from the property and views across the landscaped gardens. This new contemporary extension features buff coloured brickwork walls, generous glazed elements and metal standing-seam mono-pitched roofs.

It is always a pleasure working on projects that are a little out of the ordinary. This new quirky but modest accessible WC sits within the churchyard of St. Peter & St. Paul's Church in Cherry Willingham, near Lincoln. This new timber outbuilding features natural lightweight timber shingle walls and pitched roofs, gently contrasting with the existing ashlar stone Georgian church building. This new asset will allow for wider community versatility and use of this Grade I Listed Building, without compromising the sacred geometry and original historical building fabric.

Throw-back Thursday... here is a younger me from 2015 whilst working at GMS Architecture on a project at St James Church in Spilby. This prestigious Grade I LIsted Building originally dates back as far as the 14th century. The proposed works included the installation of a new sympathetic yet modern community servery kitchen and accessible WCs. This ensures the longevity of the building for generations to come by enabling greater accessibility and civic events to be accommodated, subsequently generating revenue to help maintain the continuous ongoing repair and maintenance of the historical building fabric. The work included exceptional oak joinery craftsmanship by local contractors Rodden & Cooper. The kitchen sink was purposely positioned in location of the original font which once stood within the west tower. During this time whilst working in a conservation based practice for 5 years, I could not have asked for better hands-on training, learning traditional detailing and successfully delivering projects on my journey to becoming an experienced Architect.
