Love tropical Dipladenia and Mandevilla plants! 🌺 Every year, I find myself adding more and more of these gorgeous tropicals to my garden.
While Dipladenia grows as a bushier shrub and Mandevilla behaves more like a climbing vine, they both sport similarly stunning flowers. They come in white, yellow, pink, and red—and so far this year, I’ve managed to collect every color except the white variety!
Here is how I'm showcasing them in the garden right now:
🌿 Hanging Pots & Ground Containers: I’ve planted the pink and yellow varieties in hanging pots, as well as in a rustic whisky barrel planter.
🌿 The Two-Tiered Black Iron Stand: I also planted a mix of yellow and pink Mandevilla varieties into a two-tiered iron stand, beautifully topped off with a brass bowl birdbath.
🌿 The Arbor Project: I wanted to incorporate a rustic arbor into my backyard garden bed, so my partner and I designed a custom white birch pole arbor. I'm currently training vines to climb up the poles, added two Dipladenia hanging baskets from the top corners, and finished it off with a thatched branch top.
🌿 The Patio Trellis: My red Mandevilla vine is still quite small, but I’m actively training it to climb a white iron trellis on the patio. In the right conditions, these beauties can reach up to 20 feet long!
I can't wait to see how they fill out this season!
