How Much Do Gate Motor Repairs Cost?

There is no exact answer to this question – the gate motor repairs cost will depend on what the actual diagnosis is as well as the length of time it takes us to fix it. But, we have an estimate of how much your gate motor repair will cost you.

Call out fee R300 – R500

Gate not closing R450 – R650

Gate moving slowly R400 – R550

Programming gate remotes R150 – R250

Replacing a battery R600 – R750*

These prices are based on labour only and exclude any materials needed for the job

Gate Motor Repairs VS Gate Motor Installation

Should you repair your gate motor or is it better to replace it completely. This is one of the most common questions we get asked. The answer of course depends on these factors:
How old is the gate motor – if the gate motor is a relatively old one then it might be better to replace it instead of paying to have the gate motor repaired.
Your budget – if you are on a tight budget and the gate motor repairs cost is less than the cost to install a gate motor, we recommend having the gate motor repaired.
The gate motor fault – if the problem with the gate motor is a simple one and won’t more than a few hours it is definitely better to have the gate motor repaired. If the issue is going to take weeks to fix or you need to have parts shipped in from the supplier then it might be better to have the gate motor replaced.
