07 SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF UNLICENSED FI****MS, LIVE AMMUNITION, AND DANGEROUS WEAPONS

Crime prevention unit was on duty conducting patrol duties when they received an anonymous tip off about a group of African males who were drinking at Matjeke's Zone Tarven at Rolong Street, who were in possession of fireams. The members then proceeded to the address, and on arrival, as they entered the yard, a group of African males ran into different directions, and they ran after them.
Two suspects were caught hiding inside the house in the yard, and they were each found in possession of 9mm pistols and live ammunition and one bullet proof vest, one African male in another room was found in possession of 16 live ammunition, and the other two African males who ran over the wall were each found in possession of 9mm pistols and live ammunition.
An amount of R8000.00 was also found where they were seating of which the suspect could not account for. They were then asked to produce licenses to possess fi****ms and ammunition, and they could not produce. They were then arrested for the possession of unlicensed fi****ms and ammunition.
After a while, when the crime prevention unit was conducting stop and searches at Hlakwana Street, they found one African male in possession of a toy firearm, which is suspected that he uses for street robberies. He was then arrested for the possession of dangerous weapon.
At about 23:00, the members received another tip off regarding an African male who commits robberies and was in possession of two fi****ms at Ramza Street, and they then proceeded to the address and on arrival, the described African male was found in his room and he was then asked to be searched, upon searching in the room, they found two 9mm resembling fi****ms and they were discovered to be blank Fi****ms. The African male was then arrested for possession of dangerous weapons.
The seven African males between the ages of 19 and 47 were all detained at Daveyton SAPS.
When effecting these arrests, SAPS members were joined by crime prevention wardens, security companies, namely: A-Tac, Nhlangwini solutions, Gorilla unit, Blue haks, and Swat.
