In a operation involving the National Traffic Police (NTP), SAPS Midrand, Highway Patrol (HP), SSU Anti-Hijacking Unit, and the Gauteng Traffic Police Airwing, law enforcement officers responded to a callout regarding a white BMW linked to the armed robbery of an Iveco courier van in Sandton.

The Gauteng Traffic Police Airwing quickly deployed and spotted the robbed Iveco van at the Allandale and R101 intersection, heading towards the Gautrain Station. Upon noticing the officers, the driver attempted to flee but crashed into a street light on Swart Street during the pursuit.

Following the crash, NTP, SSU Anti-Hijacking, and SAPS officers conducted a tactical takedown where one suspect was arrested on the scene.

The stolen Iveco van was recovered, and upon inspection, officers found a Dell laptop, 4 LG 65-inch televisions and an unlicensed firearm inside the vehicle.
