The story of an encounter with3 dagha boys that is recorded in my book "Risk & Reward", is echoed in this AI generated video. You are welcome to share as wide as possible.

I’ve just returned from the United States, where Risk & Reward was introduced to a new audience.

My books and paintings never arrived in time — stranded in Durban harbour — but the story still travelled.

Using new AI tools, I created sixteen music videos capturing the spirit behind the book… and the response surprised me.

Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing them here.

An irresponsible encounter with dagha boys without a sense of humour, resulted in my life being saved by God's grace, inspite of my stupidity. This story is told under the title of “Sanctuary in the Splinters”, in my book: "Riks & Reward"

The Day I Held the First Copy
Early one morning, I drove to Pretoria to collect the first 50 completed books — Risk & Reward made real for the first time.Seven months of planning, painting, and prayer had led to that moment, but nothing could prepare me for the feeling of holding one in my hands.
The smell of ink and paper, the texture beneath my fingers, above all, the weight of it — it was as if all the miles of dust and brushstrokes and risk had somehow gathered into this single object. Each book felt alive, almost imperceptibly whispering its own story. As I paged through those first copies, a wave of emotion caught me off guard. It felt sacred, as though I were walking again through the wild places that shaped me — the same silence, the same awe.
I thought of all the encounters behind those pages — lions, rhinos, buffalo, storms, and grace — and how close I’d come to losing my life in some of them. But more than that, I felt the unmistakable sense that this wasn’t mine. It belonged to the One who had carried me through both the danger and the discovery.
I’ve always believed that art is worship made visible. That day, as I signed and numbered each book, I realised these were not just pages and paintings — they were altars of gratitude.
If art is a record of awe, then Risk & Reward is my testimony — my way of saying, “This is what wonder looks like when grace holds the brush.”

Risk & Reward has been written. The layout and design is done. The printing process is ongoing. 130 books have been bound. Now is the time that I individually number and sign every book.

"For the first time in history,
every book is an original painting.
500 copies — 500 hand-painted covers —
each carrying the artist’s own story of Risk & Reward."

Early this morning I drove to Pretoria to collect the first fifty copies of Risk & Reward.
Holding them in my hands felt unreal — the result of seven months of relentless work, prayer, and faith.

This afternoon, as I began signing and numbering each book, emotion welled up again and again. Paging through, it felt like walking through sacred ground — echoes of a life lived on the edge of risk and grace.

I can only thank the Master Artist — the Creator of the universe — whose mercy carried me through moments when wisdom failed but grace prevailed.

This book isn’t just for me or my family. It’s for every person who loves the wild places… who has taken risks, stumbled, and been lifted again by love divine.

At last, I have received the first two books hot off the presses, almost at the end of 7 months of a toil of love. Yes, I still have many covers that need to be painted, but the end is in sight. This book is dedicated to the Master Artist, the Creator of the universe.
