A few years ago, we renovated this contemporary 5-bedroom family home which is situated against a koppie at Nature’s Valley Estate in Pretoria.
The three storey Anton Rupert house was entirely gutted, and interior spaces re-designed to create optimal flow between the modernised spaces, and to bring in the tranquility of the outdoor environment. Special attention was given to the interactions between the kitchen, dining room, bar, living room and outdoor entertainment spaces, to accommodate both intimate family gatherings, and large entertainment events. Contemporary finishes and fittings were incorporated, and a combination of bespoke and local furniture from high-end retailers were selected to add the element of laid-back luxury.
The colour palette mirrors the outdoor surroundings, and accent finishes such as raw wood, metals, suedes, and high gloss surfaces create a sensory experience.
